Packing for the theme park can be a time-consuming task when you are not quite sure what to bring – so here is a little list to help you reduce the stress and just enjoy a great day out! These are my suggested must-haves for a great day out.
1. Refillable Water Bottle
Often theme park days can be hot, and water bottles certainly overpriced. So, take a refillable one and ask at the cafes scattered around the park if you can have them refilled with tap water. Some theme parks also have water fountains dotted around, helping you save more time and money!
2. Snacks
Cafes and restaurants can be an expensive addition to your day, so better to take your own snacks. This will also come in handy in the ride queues when you are feeling a little peckish. Remember not to eat too much though; a full stomach on a theme park ride is certainly never the best idea. Healthy snacks like granola bars are a great option because they’re light.
3. Disposable Camera
Save your phone battery and minimize the risk of dropping your phone in a crowded area with a disposable camera. These are often really cheap and it’s easy to get the photos produced. It will also mean you can take photos on the water rides and avoid paying for the (sometimes) awful photos captured by the on-ride cameras.
4. Ticket Deals
Student discounts or group discount vouchers help you save money, therefore making the day out even more of a success.
5. Sun screen
Theme parks are outside, so you spend hours in unshaded lines. Do the math, and you can thank me later!
6. Spare Shorts and T-shirts
A spare change of clothes is essential for the water rides especially. Even if you just take a spare pair of socks you will avoid walking around soggy all day.
7. Packable Ponchos
If you are not going to take a spare set of clothes consider at least about taking a poncho. Chances are you will sit in the exact seat that gets soaked for the water ride, or the heavens will open right on time for you queuing for a ride. So, be prepared!
8. Battery Pack
Keep your phone charged up for those card-less contactless payments of refreshing drinks, smiling pictures (selfies can’t take themselves you know!), and music that makes the driving that much more upbeat.
9. Fun Props
Take some themed photos with Mickie Mouse ears, tiaras, or mini-cowboy hats so the memories look as fun as the day was! Fun props are must-haves for a great day out.
10. Spare Hairbands
Certainly, nobody likes theme park rides with a face full of hair. For instance, on a rollercoaster or water ride. Simple.
11. Ziploc Bags
Keep your phone safe during the water rides! These Ziploc bags are truly one of the most important on this list of must-haves for a great day out. They’re also ideal for keeping those snacks separated without getting crumbs all over your bag.
12. Selfie Stick
What better way to get all your friends and the rides in one shot?
So there’s my top 12 list things to have in your bag this summer when going to the theme park — don’t stress and go have a great time!
